The climatology program is a voluntary program that is put together by the State Climatology Office at the University of Minnesota. Working together the SWCD gathers local volunteers that observe the weather in a months time period and send their observations to the staff at the SWCD. They are than recorded into a data base that is used to graph averages at the State Climatology Office. We as the SWCD, the State Office, and the local volunteers are able to bring you the best data possible for local projects, basic educational reasons, and common knowledge. This program would not be possible without its local volunteers.
If you live in the Koochiching County area and are interested in being a local rain gauge observer please call Pam Tomevi at 218-283-1174 or send her an email at pam.tomevi@koochichingswcd.org.
